LED Ring Display new product release!|2023

Introducing the latest products from OPTO PLUS LED Corp, in 2023! The newly launched product this time is a ring display with a hollow center, which can be integrated with the customers’ products to achieve the function of a ring ambient light. This product release is for standard products and the emission color can be adjusted through the standard product customization process. For detailed procedures, please refer to the Standard Product Customization webpage. In simple terms, by paying a minimal tooling cost, the emission color of the product can be adjusted. It can be customized as a single-color emitting LED ring display, dual-color emitting LED ring display, or even an RGB emitting LED ring display.

Here is a brief introduction to the product itself and some important points to note.

The appearance of the LED ring display capable of producing single-color, dual-color, and RGB displays.

The LED ring display currently being produced is different in appearance from any existing standard display products. The LED ring display consists of two concentric circles, with an inner circle diameter of 44.5mm and an outer circle diameter of 54.3mm. The LED ring display is connected to the PCB using four pins located at the top, bottom, left, and right sides. The LEDs on the ring display change color along with the voltage input to the pins, creating a slow fading or dimming effect similar to ambient lighting. The following two images show the front view of the LED ring display and the dimensional diagram provided in the datasheet.

The internal circuitry of the LED ring display capable of producing single-color, dual-color, and RGB displays.

Dual-color LED ring display

The internal circuitry of the LED ring display varies depending on the type of LEDs used and the number of LEDs. Taking the example of the OPD-DR54PGLE-Z-W which is a dual-color configuration with 28 LEDs connected in parallel for each color. The red LEDs can be controlled for illumination through PIN1/PIN2, while the green LEDs can be controlled through PIN3/PIN4. If PIN1 to PIN4 are controlled simultaneously, both colors of LEDs can be activated, creating a mixed light effect. The following diagram shows the internal circuitry connections from the OPD-DR54PGLE-Z-W datasheet, along with a video demonstrating the actual illuminated demo.

RGB LED ring display.

The internal circuitry of the LED ring display varies depending on the type of LEDs used and the number of LEDs. Taking the example of the OPD-DR54RGB-W, which is equipped with RGB LEDs capable of producing mixed light, there are 28 LEDs connected in parallel. The illumination of each RGB LED can be controlled through PIN1/PIN4 using commands. Unlike dual-color LEDs, with command control, individual LEDs can be independently controlled, allowing for complex ambient lighting effects that dual-color LEDs cannot achieve. The following diagram shows the internal circuitry connections from the OPD-DR54RGB-W datasheet, along with a video showcasing two sets of illuminated demos.
